Of note....

For those of you that are around this weekend (which I know is busy- goodluck all you Wasatch Backers!) John is singing at Cherry Hill on friday night at 9pm. He is splitting the hour with another girl. John is first. It is a free concert and it is a pretty location- and of course good tunes. If you are in the neighborhood, come over.

Cori Connors is Saturday night at 9pm. Also good tunes. And I believe she is the entire hour.

Come hang out if you are around. We would love to pull up a lawn chair with you and enjoy some tunes.

Part Three.

"If it is a boy, we will call it Monster," Sophie said proudly, then paused to give herself an approving nod. Sufficiently congratulated, she moved on to consider the alternative,
"If it is a girl..." she looked around her room, searching for inspiration, finally settling on,
"Princess. We will call it Princess...
or Brooke."
She presented all this as doctrine not open to debate. There was no doubt in her voice. No slight pause. No verbal cue that communicated anything like a question mark. These were the facts. She spoke them slowly and with conviction. Then she closed her eyes and went to bed.

Ashley is pregnant.

That's the news around here. She is beautifully pregnant. And she's totally crazy. She is living on a diet that consists of bagels and cream cheese exclusively. She is full of hope and excitement.

Sophie will have until sometime mid December to form a compelling argument to support her bizarre name choices. This, in addition to whatever rain dance she can come up with to ensure that what is presently called "baby number 3" will be a sister.

Parker has no idea what is going on. He is not unlike his father in this sense. But concerning the baby, if you ask him "where's mama's baby" he will begin to undress Ashley, wrestling with her until he can expose and point at her stomach, which is just now beginning to pop out. I suggest you quietly ask him the question next time you are around both of them.

I am filled with a combination of "thanksgiving in twenty years is going to be so fun" excitement and "these Lilliputians are going to shoot me in the eye with their poison arrows" terror.

All in all, we feel very lucky.

key points review.

Catch Up

I feel like I have been really bad at posting lately. So much has happened that I want to remember so this is going to be a catch up of the past little while. So much good. :) Can't complain about that.

Mother's Day BBQ. The boys never disappoint when it comes to the grill. (And even the salad!) The food was amazing and the company was quite a treat. Even the Barnetts stopped by for the festivities which always makes me happy.
Sophie's last day of preschool with her friend Chloe.
The wonderful Mrs. Chris who we will miss so much. She was Sophie's teacher and she was so fantastic.
Memorial Day visiting graves. Here we are with the Connors' in Woods Cross.
With my family at Megan's, Steve's, Tina's and Grandpa's graves. This one was a bit tough for me this year. But also felt very healing. It was sweet to be there with Nana. I had never gone with her before.
John was so awesome and let me get away with my favorite friends from BYU for the weekend. We stayed at Entrada in St. George and even hit up Vegas for a day of shopping. It was so nice and John even survived Parker having a double ear infection while I was gone. Thanks girls for an awesome weekend, and thanks John and everyone who helped with my kids.
Sophie has begged me for days to "sell oranges". I can't figure out where this idea came from but I finally gave in. She made the sign and set up shop tonight. She even made $3 from overly kind neighbors who had compassion for a 4 year old selling pretty beat up oranges. (Parker was throwing them around the yard.)
We are excited for summer and the adventures it will bring.
